Every month, hundreds of thousands of Tajikistani workers abroad send money back home. Typically, it looks like this: a line at the transfer point, a 2-5% fee, and waiting. The money just leaves—and doesn't bring anything additional.
Today, there's a tool that changes this logic.
A licensed Tajik broker has launched a product for compatriots abroad—a investment account with transfer function.
The essence is simple: while you are deciding when to send money to your family, it's not sitting idly by. It can be in an investment account working in real assets—stocks and ETFs on American exchanges. And when needed, you press a button, and the family receives funds in Tajikistan.
Step 1. You top up the investment account conveniently—via SPFS from any Russian bank, by card or transfer.
Step 2. The money can work in securities: stocks of large companies, ETFs on indices, bonds. You choose what to invest in.
Step 3. At any moment you press 'Send Home'—and the family receives funds in Tajikistan through a licensed payment partner.
The transfer is carried out through a separate payment infrastructure, not directly through a brokerage account. This ensures speed and compliance with regulatory requirements.
With a regular transfer, money simply moves from point A to point B. You lose time and pay a fee, but gain no additional value.
With an investment account, the money can work while you plan the transfer. For example:
An investment account is not a bank deposit. There are no fixed interest rates on the balance. Returns are formed due to changes in the market value of securities and currency revaluation.
The value of assets can rise and fall. Past results do not guarantee the future. Therefore, it is important:
The product is designed for citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan temporarily staying abroad—in Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, UAE, and other countries.
Upon registration, there is a standard identity check: RT passport, citizenship confirmation. This is a requirement of the licensed broker and part of AML procedures.
Important: the product is not intended for tax residents of other countries (for example, residents of the Russian Federation with a Russian TIN). This is due to currency control and sanctions compliance.
For those in Russia, topping up through the System for Quick Payments (SPFS) from any Russian bank is available: Sber, Tinkoff, Alfa, VTB, and others.
It's convenient:
Imagine a situation:
Unlike a simple transfer, the money could work during those two weeks.
Market risk. The price of securities may fall. Mitigation: use conservative instruments (bonds, ETFs on government bonds) for short-term placement.
Currency risk. The ruble/dollar/somoni rate changes. Mitigation: consider volatility when choosing a horizon.
Liquidity. Selling securities takes 1-2 trading days. Mitigation: do not invest money needed by the family 'tomorrow'.
Investment income may be subject to taxation in the country of your tax residency. For RT citizens temporarily in the RF, tax issues are governed by RT legislation and international agreements.
It is recommended to consult with a tax specialist before starting work.
If you work abroad and regularly send money to your family:
💡 If you want to start investing—opening an account with a licensed broker can be done in a few minutes. Top up from 100 somoni, no office visit required.
