First Steps in Investing: How to Open an Investment Account?

Opening an investment account is your first and most important step towards building capital and achieving financial goals. In the modern world, this process has become as simple, fast, and accessible as possible for everyone. In this guide, we will explain in detail how to open an account in just a few minutes, what documents you will need, and what to do next.

Modern technology has completely changed the process of opening brokerage accounts. Whereas before this required a personal visit to the office and filling out numerous paper documents, today everything can be done online, from the comfort of your home. The Stock Broker offers a fully digital process that takes no longer than 5 minutes.

Step-by-step guide to opening an account

The account opening process consists of just three simple steps designed for maximum client convenience.

Step 1: Filling out the online application

The first step is to register in the system. You will need to fill out a short online form on the official website or in the Stock Broker mobile app. At this step, you will need:

• Passport: Providing a quality scan or photo of your passport is sufficient.

• Contact information: A valid email address and mobile phone number.

Step 2: Account funding

Once your application is approved (which happens almost instantly), you can fund your new investment account.

Step 3: Start investing

Immediately after the funds are credited to your account, you gain full access to the trading platform and can start investing. In the "Trading" section, you will have access to various financial instruments: stocks, bonds, and other assets on leading global and regional exchanges.

Required documents and verification procedure (KYC)

To ensure the security of your funds and compliance with international standards, all financial institutions conduct a client verification procedure known as KYC (Know Your Customer). This procedure is mandatory and aimed at preventing fraud and money laundering (AML).

Sometimes an additional document may be required (for example, a driver's license).

Address confirmation - in some cases, the broker may request proof of your residential address. * Utility bill

• Bank statement

Contact information - for communication and notifications.  * Email address

• Mobile phone number

At Stock Broker, the KYC procedure is simplified to the maximum and integrated into the online registration process. Providing a passport scan and contact details is generally sufficient for successful account opening.
