Third Harmonic Bio, Inc. is a biotechnology company that develops a new generation of drugs to treat allergic and inflammatory diseases.
The company has one drug candidate, THB001, which is in Phase Ia clinical trials for two dermatological diagnoses and in preclinical stage for respiratory and gastrointestinal diseases.
THB001 is an inhibitor of a particular receptor on the surface of mast cells, which are specialized immune cells involved in the progression of multiple diseases. Therefore, THB001 may be effective as a primary and adjunctive therapy for a range of conditions, from hives to asthma and gastrointestinal disorders.
In recently completed trials, THB001 has shown efficacy in chronic hives. New trials are planned to begin by the end of 2022, with results to be published in the second half of 2023. Data on testing THB001 for asthma treatment will also be available next year, which may initiate Phase Ib clinical trials.
THB001 has a large potential target market, as it is theoretically capable of alleviating symptoms of numerous diseases that cause strong allergic reactions and inflammation.
